1️⃣ Recruter un bon Product Manager : La méthode de A à Z • Sept 2020 • 14 min read (fr)
A very thorough article on how to recruit a product manager. If you are not hiring, I still found interesting to read about the distinction they make between 5 types of product managers (useful at different company's stage): entrepreneur, technical, growth, business and optimiser. It reminded me of the 3 types that Sachin Rekhi wrote about in 2016 #hiring
2️⃣ Product Manager Interview: The Product Design Question • Aug 2020 • 5 min read
Are you looking for a new job? At some point, there is a good chance that you'll be ask a product design question, aka: create a solution to a specific problem & target audience. He could be a simple question or part of a use case. My 2cts: ask many questions first on the company's objectives, current insights (user feedbacks or data), product vision, etc. Don't optimise locally, seek the main problem. Then answer. Many more advice in the article. FYI: this will be the first article out of 8 on preparing interviews #interviewprep
3️⃣ Inversion • May 2020 • 3 min read
A very simple "trick" that I love whenever the team feel stuck in a solution brainstorming. Ask them to find the worst solution possible to the problem you want to tackle. You can even make the problem more extreme to help them evaluate it differently and break ouf the existing patterns #creativity
4️⃣ Invisible details • Sept 2020 • 5 min read
Linear is a new take on making a well known tool very productive. Think of it as "Superhuman meeting Jira". Every piece of the experience is designed with a clear intent. In this most recent example they reinvented the contextual menu. How many times have you been annoyed by the problem they finally resolved? #craftmanship #ux
5️⃣ The Uncertainty Mindset & the Future of Work • Sept 2020 • 9 min read
A lot of wisdom in this article, especially in this period of troubles. Highly recommended. Using the example of high end cuisine, and its recent shift from efficiency as the main virtue to innovation, we can better understand the dynamic behind an empowered team.
