Hey everyone,
I hope you had a wonderful summer!
Since you might be busy with “la rentrée”, instead of the usual format, here is a special edition of productverse. I’ll answer a question I often receive about my must-read resources on product building. Keep on reading.
Please support this newsletter by sharing it with colleagues or liking it (tap on the 💙).
Enjoy!
PS: if you want to ask me a question like Sylvain, hit reply!
Sylvain asked: Do you have any must-read, must-watch, must-listen (books, videos, podcasts)? How can I improve my product knowledge?
1️⃣ Use a “map” like the one I created back in comet. Auto-assess your current knowledge, then focus on what can be improved. If this map is too simple, be sure to check the Product Map (super exhaustive).
2️⃣ Break knowledge into mindsets, processes, and tools.
3️⃣ Seek the best content available for each category 👇
General knowledge (= subscribe and follow, get this knowledge pushed to you on a regular basis).
✉️ Newsletters: Productverse 👋, ProductCompass, Lenny’s Newsletter, Reforge (notably artifacts), Product Manager HQ, Product Inbox (fr), Le Ticket (fr), Mozza Bytes (fr) …
🎙️ Podcasts: Lenny’s Podcast, Clef De Voute (fr), How’s work with Esther Perel, 20VC podcast, Dive.club (design) …
📢 Thought leaders: Sachin Rekhi, John Cutler, Shreyas Doshi, Marty Cagan, Teresa Torres, Melissa Perri, Roman Pichler, Gibson Biddle, Claire Vo …

Cool tools (= test regularly tools, relevant to your product work or that can inform the way you think about your own product)
Linear and their writing. What I like about them: opinionated tool, outstanding performance and to-the-point design.
June and their writing. What I like about them: data but super actionable, use a lot of smart defaults. They compete in a crowded market by being different.
Basecamp and their writing. What I like about them: clarity of thought, contrarian, deep knowledge of their users, dedicated to small businesses.
The Browser Company and their writing. What I like about them: outstanding brand, craft lovers, optimizing for emotions and committed to building the future.
Your next pick ;)
