🍬 BUILDING FASTER • May 2022 • 8 min read • #execution
In the last few years, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to build products faster, especially since creating my own startup. This May, I participated in a talk about Pre-PMF Product Mgmt (in french here), I mentor product leaders on this very topic and I’m planning to share more about how teams of different sizes could work more like early stage startups. Depending on your appetite, I might even start a separated publication (= regular original content to build faster). No promises but I’d love to know what you think 👇
Okay, on to the article, this one is a great collection of tactics for engineers to build faster. Worth reading and sharing with your team.
🍬 PRODUCT CULTURE HAS BECOME A CULT • Aug 2023 • 2 min read • #mindset
We should think beyond rules and frameworks. Like Rémi shares, iterating is not the goal, but we are lucky that in our industry iterating is mostly cheap. The way I’m trying to focus on the principles is by:
1/ trying to separate mindsets from processes and tools when I learn about something new
2/ always acknowledging the specific context before picking a framework
3/ Implementing only the chunks that solve observed problems. Don’t overthink it or try to protect the team from issues they don’t experience yet.
🍬 I CANCELLED 80% OF MY RECURRING 1:1’S • May 2023 • 5 min read • #leadership
I strongly suggest you follow Claire Vo on twitter, she shares a lot of gems there (for example what her week as a CPTO looks like). In the thread I picked, she explains how she replaced a common practice (weekly 1:1s) to actually improve her 1:1 game (principle > process).
⏳ PRODUCT PRIORITIZATION: FEATURE BUCKETS • Mar 2019 • 5 min read • #strategy #execution

This is probably my favorite prioritisation tactic:
1/ Create buckets that account for the strategy of the company. Buckets can be metrics movers, customer requests, customer delight and strategic initiatives, according to the author.
2/ Decide relative importance between the buckets (= % or number of weeks) and/or team organisation (= number of squads). Even better if it’s discussed between execs.
3/ Only then prioritise specific features in each buckets with any framework that suits you.
PS: you can read more on this topic in the editions #61 & #49.
